The basics
01What exactly is the anthology?+
A professionally designed book containing a short story or personal narrative from every participating student, arranged by classroom or homeschool group. Amazon publication is optional. Students choose the title and create the cover art.
02Which grades can participate?+
The project works from kindergarten through middle school. Younger students can write shorter pieces, while older students can go deeper.
03Who can take part?+
A single classroom, one grade, or a whole school can take part. Homeschool groups and co-ops can also bring together writing from students across participating families. Younger and older students can contribute to the same collection.

For homeschool groups
05Who coordinates a homeschool anthology?+
Choose one parent or group coordinator as the main contact. They collect the stories and artwork, coordinate the title and family permissions, review the proof with the group, and organize pre-orders and the launch.
The writing and editing
06How long should each story be?+
There is no strict length. One to three pages is a useful guide, but a shorter piece from a younger writer is just as welcome.
07Do we have to use the recorded lessons?+
No. The four recorded lessons are optional. Each is about 30 minutes, includes built-in writing time and activities, and requires no teacher or parent preparation. Use all four, some, or none.
08Can students include artwork?+
Yes. Students can illustrate their own stories, and student artwork is used on the front and back covers.
09Do teachers or parents have to proofread every story?+
No. Students lead the self-editing and peer-editing, with optional help from families. A note in the book explains that it is student-driven and may contain small errors. Your school or group coordinator still reviews the complete proof before publication.
10Will the stories be edited?+
Light copyediting happens during the design stage, while the project keeps the students’ voices and ownership at the centre.
Submitting and publishing
11How do we submit the stories?+
Send one Word file per classroom or homeschool group. Put the teacher’s or group coordinator’s name and the participating grade levels at the top, then begin each story on a new page with the student’s name and story title.
12How do we send illustrations?+
Scan the artwork and send it separately from the Word files, with the student’s name on each piece.
13How do students choose the title?+
Your school or homeschool group can use a student vote, a title contest, or a shortlist created by the students who made the cover art. The essential rule is that students choose it.
14How is student privacy handled?+
Your school or homeschool group coordinates family permissions and decides how student names will appear: first names only, first names with last initials, or full names. Agree on the naming and publication choices with participating families before submitting the stories.
15Can we review the book first?+
Yes. Your school or homeschool group receives a proof of the complete anthology and can request changes before publication.
16How long does the process take?+
About two months from submission until the finished book is available. Your school or group sets its own submission deadline around its preferred launch, holiday, or year-end date.

17Where can people buy the anthology?+
Families and friends can pre-order through the participating school or homeschool group. If you choose Amazon publication, they can also order through the Amazon listing.
18How are copies priced?+
The final price depends on the page count. It is set so the school or homeschool group raises $4.00 on every copy sold.
19Is there a minimum school order?+
No. The school can purchase copies as needed and receives a $4.00 discount from the listed price.
20How does pre-ordering work?+
Your school or group coordinator gathers orders from students, families, and friends so you know how many copies to have ready. School pre-orders receive special pricing, and every pre-order includes a free ebook and audiobook code. Homeschool groups can confirm ordering arrangements when planning their project.
21How long will the book remain available?+
Your school or homeschool group decides how long the anthology stays available.
